Club Sessions (Weekends)

Weekend runs are normally longer, and therefore slower, than weekday runs. They are intended to help meet their running objectives for that period whether that is running a marathon, Ladies 5 or the Great South Run.

They are also "social" runs and are led by experienced group leaders and deputies to ensure members run in an appropriate paced group.

Saturday

Entry Level/Level 2

Aims to provide an introduction into longer runs through a series of exercises, games and competitive targets.

 Level 3/4

Primarily run revolve around spring and autumn marathon schedules but will still benefit those concentrating on shorter distances.

Sunday

Level 2/3

This group will either run with it's own schedule or will complement the runs done on a Saturday.

The group historically has run from Purbrook with a start time of 7:30 or 8:00am.

Therefore if you want a warm up run before a Today Runners XC event then this will be accommodated.

Level 2 - Off Road

Is aimed at those who are new to cross country. The session will be open to absolutely anyone, regardless of ability or experience, and the pace will be set by the slowest runner.

The emphasis is on having fun and socialising rather than distance or speed, but it could also be used as training runs for those who decide that they want to take part in the Cross Country series or other off road events.

The start point varies each week and is published on the web site and announced on Club nights.

Usually the run will finish at a café where we can get tea and cake to aid recovery of tired legs.

 Level 3 - Off Road

Is aimed at those who are experienced runners. The group includes a wide range of ability and everyone will be able to get what they want from the session.

The start point varies each week and is published on the web site and announced on Club nights.

Usually the run will finish at a café where we can get tea and cake to aid recovery of tired legs.
